Nalanda College Astronomical Society is the pioneers in conducting night observation camps in Sri Lanka. We proudly admit that it is us that organized the first ever school based night sky observation camp in Sri Lanka in 1996. Throughout a year we hold several night camps, both at school, public places and especially in our fellow brother and sister schools. Annually we organize three main camps at our own school. Other than that, in special occasions special camps are organized to commemorate those events. Up to now we have been able to conduct night camps, in schools in or near Colombo. But recently there have been invitations for us to conduct camps as far away as Debara wewa and Bandarawela. All night camps conducted are done free of charge. We are proud to say that, since the inception of our society we have conducted 300 night camps outside our school premises. If anybody wishes to organize a night camp in there institute we will be more than happy to help them and share our knowledge with them.
